Windsor Beach
Private Home
Windsor, a luxury residential community in southern Florida, is architecturally Anglo-Caribbean in spirit, and the community’s owners often pursue a range of traditional interior-design schemes. These clients, however, were the opposite of traditional.
The owners, a couple, who live in the house full-time, and entertain there often, embraced graphic statements and bold gestures in scale. This elevated modern aesthetic unfolds against a high-contrast palette of ivory and camel, with stark ebony accents.

Great Room
Designed with entertaining in mind, the sizable great room features a mirrored setup of L-shaped sofas and matching coffee tables. The fireplace column is clad in black quartzite, a powerful feature that allows a darkened television screen to recede from view.
Breakfast Room
A floating bench upholstered in leather and linen allowed the breakfast room’s Saarinen table to be placed tighter to the wall, leaving space for a second casual sitting area. A duplicate of this custom linen pendant light hangs over the kitchen island.
Master bathroom
Dumais installed an extra-long vanity that mirrors the long, linear proportions of the master bathroom. Overscaled drum fixtures along the ceiling neatly dividing the space, and a pop of blue offers a refreshing contrast against stark white.
Office
For the client’s home office, Dumais sourced a patterned wall-to-wall carpet that appealed to the client’s tastes and synched with the restrained house palette. Cedar-clad vaulted ceilings find a natural and understated complement in jute wall coverings.
